Whispers Rising

A whisper rises within the mind,
The heart listens but beats back fear.

Darkness thick as velvet covers the soul.
Stars pulsate like embers scattered in the wind
While a pearl moon is hanging by a thread
At midnight.

My heart will not remain soft with frost hardening
The cycles of blossoming life like tender buds
That are bruised by spring gales.

Fall embraces stumbles.
The quiet hum rings melody.
Sweet noise weaves joys
Bursting through tears.

Rain washes dust from windows.
Leaves become weary in the shadows.
The gold of sunlight fades again
As warm days scribble into night.

Life settles calm and cool.
Dawn mist dissolves.
Ice chunks clank in the winter river.
The clouds roll in full of thunder.

Lightning cuffs its bliss folding
As hands fold to pray.
