County Fair
Can she buy you something?
She’s handy as cattle
Pulling a bell around her heart
To market for the meat of you.
In the hay loft
She sucked the marrow-bone
And swallowed your thanks.
But her jealous lust sat
Smoking in the loft
While girls you laid
Between stacks of hay
Gave birth to carnivals for you.
You kept rolling over
Counting tricks,
Said you led a dog’s life.
Can she buy you something?
Cup of coffee with cream?
She’ll listen to your bull
And even ride him bare butt
For the utter cow in her.
