Retribution of the Colors
In her sun-bright garden, they that day stood—
Tomatoes burned red and bright with desire
Golden marigolds flashed out passion’s mood
Rooted deep in her lust that bloomed like fire
Stifling her tongue with whispers soft with lies
His blue gaze as deep as the painted sky
His seeds her lust did bind in tender ties
Now her verse flames with shame she can’t deny
Retribution scalds her heart guilty red
She seeks a brush to swish away the taint
Grace divine can snuff out the lust instead
No word of humankind can quash the feint
Though colors bright may stir beneath her skin—
Gold, blue, and white alone can clear the sin
