Twentieth Anniversary
March 10, 1993
for Ron
We have stitched the moments
into a fine garment of married love
that takes the cold edge off this world.
Sometimes like a baby’s fanny
fresh-diapered, our lives wobble
on new legs; green apples ripens in time.
Wedded bliss rambles in the orchard
where love and lust bump each other
until all the apples have fallen
and the trees sigh with relief.
