The Sacred Heart of Mother Divine
an American-Innovative villanelle
The sacred heart of Mother Divine seeks no gold.
Love alone brings Her our way.
We are Her children, thriving in Her care.
No lie can ever divert Her gaze—no false display.
Her tears are shed for love gone astray.
The sacred heart of Mother Divine seeks no gold.
No pride or ego can ever win Her grace.
From boasts and bombast Her love will shy away.
But we are Her children, thriving in Her care.
Her touch we need to guide us through the clash
Of tempests and troubles that rise from day to day.
The sacred heart of Mother Divine seeks no gold.
In all of space and time, we belong to Her.
Her care grows sweet flowering all our days.
We are Her children, thriving in Her care.
Her smiles we need to light this darkened maze.
Her strength we crave to tread the path back home.
The sacred heart of Mother Divine seeks no gold.
We are Her children, thriving in Her care.
