O I Want to Know God
O I want to know God—not just the name
The one that crazed humanity has done
That deity so styled is not the same
I seek only the word that speaks from flame
I seek answers beyond the rising sun
O I want to know God—not just the name
Though I may speak harsh words that often blame
Those whose thoughts twist and turn where truth is spun
That deity so styled is not the same
True love should speak true words that do not claim
To say what can’t be said and be undone
O I want to know God—not just the name
I shall go on searching for here I came
To attune myself under the warm sun
That deity so styled is not the same
Craving will leave me lost inside this frame
Knowing will leave all doubt to be undone
O I want to know God—not just the name
That deity so styled is not the same
