Breathing in Our Own Paradise

for my belovèd husband, Ronald

We have turned earth to heaven ‘neath these skies
We trod golden paths leading us on our way
We move breathing in our own paradise

The round moon does change form before our eyes
We find a fine table on holiday
We have turned earth to heaven ‘neath these skies

Unbound unclipped our souls in grace arise
Scoffers must watch their prophecies decay
We move breathing in our own paradise

You remain my hero—constant strong wise
Your tranquil beauty brightens every day
We have turned earth to heaven ‘neath these skies

Two souls unique—in harmony we prize
Though worldly storms and petty passions play
We move breathing in our own paradise

The past grows calm—its wound no longer cries
Waking from Maya dream we go our way
We have turned earth to heaven ‘neath these skies
We move breathing in our own paradise
