Koan* in My Heart
Lust tossed me naked—koan in my heart
Leaving me to seek grace through the dark night
But Love grows in the soul’s eternal art
At times my mother stood silent apart
My father went on stone-like to my sight
Lust tossed me naked—koan in my heart
Possession’s binding I could not outsmart
Evil marriage bore the face of endless fright
But Love grows in the soul’s eternal art
Rage built a cage—confining from the start
Doubt obscured the stars with fog-heinous blight
Lust tossed me naked—koan in my heart
But wisdom plants its seeds where shadows dart
And Truth grows mighty in God’s divine light
While Love grows in the soul’s eternal art
Greater than flesh greater than wounds and scars
Reigns the deathless soul greater than the plight
Lust tossed me naked—koan in my heart
But Love grows in the soul’s eternal art
